Mukesh was The TOP singer in the film Industry of India. His was a gentlemanly style of singing. His voice was a BHOLI and GAMBHIR AAWAZ. Einstein had said about Gandhiji,"Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth." I thnk if he had known Mukesh,Saigal, Talat Mahmood, Lata he would have said the same about these extraordinarily gifted people. I do not know if people in India are aware of the impact these people had on Indians living in South Africa, Trinidad, Fiji, etc. Some researchers believe that they did for these expatriate Indians same as Gandhi did for Indians in India.

I observed, however that in presenting Mukesh songs from various music directors you missed out on Kalyanji-Anandji, who gave him many of his famous songs. You also missed out on Ravi who composed some very nice songs for Mukesh but for some reason suddenly stopped (I dont know if there was a problem between them). for me, Mukesh is an inevitable part of life.
till now, i have been very content with my own personal interest -- something that stuck me since my childhood -- listening continuously, collecting all related items and adding to my own personal Mukesh collection.

I was very happy to see a site of Mukesh, the options on your site are impressive, but their is no matter in them. There are no songs under Shankar Jaikishan and Kalyanji Anandji. You should know that Mukesh sang most of the songs for them.
I was shocked to see some hyperlinks named 'Sad songs'. None of the songs sung by Mukesh were sad or were "fun songs".
I bet U cant be able to find any such songs, of Mukesh of course.
A table will be better in place of the plain and continuous text in some categories.

But there were three main Singers Mukesh, Rafi and Kishore. Then we had always Mukesh there, with his very impressive, and powerful voice.

Till noe, I am able to mimic 90% of his voice( my friends says so, I never say so). However, would you send me the rare song of Mukeshji called "Tum Jahan Ho Wahan Kya Ye Mousam Nahin" of Film "ROAD TO SIKKIM".We can also interchange Mukesh's songs.

Another thing : You probably have heard the song "... Tum Kitne Sundar Ho..." of Film "MOHRA". But, this song was originally sang by Mukeshji (lyric and music are ditto).I am also trying to get that song.

In the Ek Aur Anek Mukesh video I had (which was black and white and had very very fuzzy audio and visual quality), there was a commercial for a collection of 1984 songs. One of the songs came from the 1984 film Hero (the Jackie Shroff film). I eventually found out that the song's male singer was Manhar Udhas. But in his first line, it sounded like as if Mukesh was
singing it. I was thinking, "Did he really have that many songs after 1984?"

I like the Chand Grahan songs. Although I had never heard of the film's release in 1999. Have you seen it? How is it?

On your website, what do you mean by unreleased songs and background songs. Two of the unreleased songs, one from Sangam and the other from Mera Nam Joker were actually in the film. Do you mean unreleased as in they put the song in the film but not out in a tape or CD?

Your web site is very nice and I knew many things that I didn't know about Mukesh before. I checked out the Mukesh clone portion of your web site and I tried to submit a vote, but it didn't allow me to. Personally, I think Nitin Mukesh sounds like Mukesh. If you hear Nitin Mukesh's voice very very carefully, you can see that he can do certain sounds (especially the "aa")
sound that Mukesh can do that which none of the "imitators" can do. Not just with Mukesh, but any son of any singer can sound like their father. Amit
Kumar can sound just like Kishore Kumar compared to Kumar Sanu who tries to imitate Kishore Kumar sounds.

I am real interested in your site - but most links dont seem to be working now.
Reg Mukesh. To me, music is Melody form the heart. And simple compositions, from the heart is what is music. In this, Talat Mahmood and Mukesh are undisputed kings. While Talat saab used his wonderful voice, Mukesh used his timbre. Both were best at pathos. Mukesh's "Ansu bhari hai" or "Bhooli hui yaadein" will remain glittering milestones of film music.
